Mon parcours musical
J’ai commencé à chanter dans mon premier groupe, SKY, à seulement 13 ans, à Magog, au Québec.
À 18 ans, j’ai quitté Magog pour Montréal avec un plan assez simple : j’allais devenir une rock star.
Enfin… c’était le plan.

Magog · Le début
SKY → Quartz → The Rats
J’ai commencé à chanter à 13 ans à Magog. SKY a été suivi de Quartz et, à 15 ans, je chantais avec The Rats.
Ces premiers groupes m’ont donné un avant-goût de la vie que je voulais. À 18 ans, j’étais prêt à découvrir jusqu’où la musique pouvait me mener.

Montréal · Les années de clubs
Murder → Syhon
Je suis arrivé à Montréal sans pratiquement connaître personne. Murder est devenu mon premier groupe dans la ville, suivi de Syhon, avec lequel j’ai commencé à parcourir le grand circuit des clubs québécois comme chanteur principal.
J’ai délibérément choisi les clubs comme école. Soir après soir, devant de vrais publics, j’ai appris à divertir, à communiquer et à devenir un interprète.

À partir de 1994 · Devenir professionnel
Télévision et productions
Intégrer l’ensemble de chanteurs de Beau et chaud en 1994 a changé la direction de ma carrière. J’apprenais soudain de nouveaux styles musicaux, je travaillais devant les caméras et je participais à des émissions de télévision en direct et enregistrées.
Un contrat de gérance a suivi, ouvrant la porte au travail de choriste, aux apparitions télévisées et à des productions comme Du Rock à l’Opéra, Cinémashow et Danse Sing.

Paris · 2002
Cindy
En 2002, je suis allé à Paris pour jouer dans la comédie musicale Cindy de Luc Plamondon.
Cette expérience m’a changé. Travailler avec Luc m’a fait comprendre que chanter ne se résumait pas aux notes. Un chanteur pouvait habiter un texte, l’interpréter et lui donner vie. Le jeu d’acteur faisait lui aussi partie du processus.
Je suis revenu de Paris avec le sentiment d’avoir franchi une étape importante comme artiste.

Prendre du recul
Silence
Après des années à performer, j’ai fini par arrêter complètement de chanter. La musique avait tellement défini ma vie que m’en éloigner a ouvert un chapitre très différent.
Je ne savais pas alors si je retournerais un jour devant un micro.

Le retour
Retour au micro
Vers 2020, j’ai formé le Judas Priest Experience en hommage à l’un des chanteurs qui m’avait énormément influencé dans ma jeunesse : Rob Halford.
De là sont venus The Stormbringer et Band of Brothers. Ce qui avait commencé comme un retour sur scène m’a finalement ramené vers quelque chose que je n’avais pas prévu : créer à nouveau de la musique originale.

Aujourd’hui
Bujold Labadie Blouin
Aujourd’hui, je fais partie de Bujold Labadie Blouin, où je crée du metal mélodique et néoclassique original avec Roland Bujold et Russel Labadie.
Notre premier album, Final War, a été coproduit et mixé avec Max Norman. Un deuxième album est en préparation et le travail sur un troisième a déjà commencé.
Après tout ce que la musique m’a fait traverser — les clubs, la télévision, Paris, les années d’absence et le retour — je découvre encore où cette route peut me mener.
